Join the National Celebration of Small Business Week (October 18-24)

Dating all the way back to 1981, Small Business Week presents an opportunity to celebrate the small business owners who provide our essential services, local jobs, and an invaluable touchpoint in our communities. Events are happening across Canada this October, including at Small Business BC.

Here are some of the other events taking place virtually this year.

Business Development Bank of Canada Signature Events

BDC have been the organizers of Small Business Week since its inception. For this year’s events, they have chosen the theme of resiliency. This theme celebrates the hardworking Canadian entrepreneurs who have shown their courage and adaptability in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their slate of events includes the following signature presentations:

Calgary Chamber of Commerce – Small Business Week Summit

Following the theme of resiliency, Calgary Chamber’s Small Business Summit is a full day virtual experience designed to engage and inspire. Taking place from 10:00am to 4:00pm on October 22nd, the Summit features presentations from Chris Simair and Andrew Chau, Co-Founders of SkipTheDishes, as well as a keynote presentation from thought leader John Winsor. Tickets are available from the Calgary Chamber website.

Canadian SME Magazine Small Business Summit

Taking place October 20-21, this Summit focuses on the discussion of entrepreneurial resilience in challenging times, small business leadership, Cloud and Technology that can transform your small business, live Q&A, cash flow tips from financial experts, mental health and more.

World Trade Centre Winnipeg – Small Business Week Kickoff

Happening Monday, October 19th at 12pm, the Small Business Week Kickoff consists of a panel discussion featuring entrepreneurs sharing their stories and experiences. Find inspiration and learn how two Manitoba-based businesses found innovative solutions to improve their products and services.
