Jordan Fisher

Jordan Fisher is widely recognized as one of BC’s top experts in cost-effective energy & water efficiency strategies for building retrofits. He has 15 years’ experience and has led energy efficiency upgrades across over 30 million square feet of space. This work has helped save millions of dollars in utility costs, and significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

Jordan supports clients with a wide range of building types across BC and Alberta. His work has included restaurants, retail, office, hotels, light industrial, and multi-family housing. He has a particular focus on cost/benefit analysis and developing business cases for cost effective projects.

Jordan oversees a team of professionals including energy managers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and project managers. In addition to overseeing individual building energy efficiency upgrade projects, Jordan leads the development and management of energy efficiency programs that serve commercial and multi-family building owners and operators.

When not at work Jordan enjoys hiking, paddling, surfing, camping, and biking with his wife and two children.

Liisa Atva

Liisa Atva is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV). She has valued both large and small businesses and appeared as an expert witness in court on valuation matters.

Liisa has also been a CFO for companies in the manufacturing, software, mutual fund and venture capital industries. Subsequently, she spent nine years on the deal team of an investment bank specializing in structured finance transactions. She has taught at the SFU Beedie School of Business, and rewrote the UBC Sauder School of Business Real Estate Appraisal Program’s online course on business valuation.

Although Liisa has worked for a number of large businesses she has a soft spot for the smaller ones. When she was a teenager it was the owner of an auto body shop that first sparked her interest in a business career. Her focus now is writing, teaching and mentoring business owners and students.  In addition to her Canadian experience she has lived and worked in Bermuda, Australia and the USA.

Liisa has been published in The Globe and Mail, Huffington Post, The Vancouver Sun, The BC Shipping News and The Journal of Business Valuations. One of her editorial pieces was a Google pick as top business story of the day. She is the author of The Ask: How Much is a Small Business Worth? and was awarded the Canadian Institute of CBVs 2018 Communicator of the Year award.

Lorcan O’Melinn

Lorcan O’Melinn is a Chartered Professional Accountant, CPA, CGA with experience as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in the Health Care (Riverview Hospital), Kindergarten to Grade 12 (Coquitlam School District) and Post-Secondary Education (BCIT) sectors. Experienced as a senior executive and board member, he can balance social purpose objectives and goals with appropriate risk assessment and business planning.   Lorcan understands the governance role that a board member needs to play in addition to being an advisor for senior management.

He recently served on the board of the Great Northern Way Trust (whose shareholders are SFU, UBC, Emily Carr University and BCIT) in addition to being a member on the Finance Committee and the Real Estate Committee.  Key responsibilities included governance for land transactions and the Centre for Digital Media.

He retired at the end of September from his position as Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer at BCIT.

He is married, with two children and four grandchildren. He is an avid cyclist and cycling advocate in addition to enjoying hiking and reading.  He has spent a number of years working as a volunteer and board member with sports associations in the Tri-Cities area.

Lynn Murad

Lynn is a Health Promotion Specialist, who’s been working on the Healthy Workplaces program as part of the Canadian Cancer Society since March 2020. She has a Masters in Public Health and an Undergraduate Degree in Biology and has been working in the Healthcare sector for the past 10 years.
